Water Pollution (পানি দূষণ)
Water pollution is a threat to life. Men and animals cannot live a sound life using polluted water. Water is polluted in various ways. With the development of industries, large amount of industrial and municipal wastes are discharged into rivers, lakes and canals. Fertilizers and insecticides are used in the fields by the farmers. Rain and floods wash away these chemicals and mix them with the water of rivers, canals and ponds. A lot of latrines are built on the bank of the rivers and canals. A number of ‘katcha’ drains carrying human wastes and filth run into rivers and canals. Water vehicles throw food waste and human waste into rivers. Thus water gets polluted with toxic chemicals and different wastes. It results in the death of marine lives. We also suffer from waterborne diseases when we drink polluted water. In fact, the price of pollution is the death of mankind.
